Who we are
Plannly ("we") makes the Plannly study app and this website. Questions about privacy: [email protected].
What stays on your device
In the Android app and the web app at plannly.org/app, your exams, study plan, homework, timetable, attendance, flashcards, grades, focus sessions, streaks and profile (country, level, subjects and similar) are stored only on your device (in the web app, in your browser's storage). They are not sent to us. Reminders are scheduled on your phone. Uninstalling the app, clearing the site's data in your browser, or Profile → Erase everything removes them.
This website
plannly.org doesn't use cookies for tracking, advertising or analytics. Cloudflare, which hosts it, processes your IP address to deliver the pages and protect them from abuse. The waitlist form keeps a one-way hash of your IP address for 10 minutes to stop spam.
What we collect, and why
| Data | Why | Kept |
|---|---|---|
| Account: name, email, password (stored only as a one-way hash), optional level and institution | To sign you in and provide AI help | Until you delete the account |
| If you sign in with Google: your Google account ID, name and email address (Google confirms the email is yours). We don't get your Google password or access to anything else in your Google account | To sign you in | Until you delete the account |
| Plan and expiry date | To give you what you paid for | Until you delete the account |
| Invite code, who invited you, and the number of different days the app checked in | To run "invite 3 friends, get a month of Pro" and stop fake sign-ups from counting | Until you delete the account |
| AI usage records: time, type of request (for example "ask" or "quiz"), the topic name for notes and quizzes, size and cost | To apply daily limits and control costs | Until you delete the account |
| Payment records: order and payment IDs, plan, amount, status | Accounting and tax law | As long as the law requires, without your name or email once the account is deleted |
| Crash reports: the error, where in the app it happened, app version and phone operating system (no name, email or study data) | To find and fix bugs | Up to 90 days |
| Waitlist: email and, if you chose one, the type of student | To tell you when the app launches | Until launch, or sooner if you ask |
We don't use advertising or analytics trackers in the app.
AI features
When you use an AI feature, what you send (your question, a photo, a PDF, notes or a topic name) goes with your level and chosen language to our server and then to Anthropic, which provides the Claude AI models, to produce the answer. We pass it on only to answer you.
- We don't store your questions, photos or PDFs. Our usage records only say what kind of request it was.
- Revision notes, quizzes and flashcards for a topic (not for your own notes, photos or PDFs) may be kept for up to 7 days, so a student asking about the same topic gets the answer instantly. They contain no personal information.
- Anthropic processes this data under its commercial terms, which don't allow it to train models on data sent through its API. See Anthropic's privacy policy.
- AI can be wrong. Check important answers against your textbook or teacher.
Signing in with Google
You can create an account or sign in with your Google account instead of a password. If you do:
- What we receive: your name, your email address, whether Google has verified that address, and a Google account ID that stays the same each time you sign in. We ask Google only for the basic
openid, emailandprofilepermissions. - What we don't receive: your Google password, contacts, files, calendar or anything else in your Google account.
- How we use it: only to create your Plannly account, sign you in and show your name in the app. We don't use it for advertising, don't sell it, and don't share it with anyone except the services that run Plannly for us (listed below).
- How long we keep it: until you delete your Plannly account (Profile → Delete account, or here), when it's deleted. You can also remove Plannly's access at any time from your Google account (Security → Third-party apps and services).
Plannly's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Payments
In India, payments are handled by Razorpay; elsewhere, by Google Play. They process your card or UPI details; we never see them. We receive the order and payment IDs, amount and status.
Who else receives data
Only the services that run the app for us: our hosting providers (Cloudflare for this website and the waitlist, and our server and database), Resend (to send account codes and launch emails), Google (if you choose to sign in with Google), Anthropic (AI), and Razorpay or Google Play (payments). We don't sell personal data or share it for advertising. We may disclose information if the law requires it.
Children and students under 18
Plannly is made for students, including school students. You can use the planner without an account. To create an account, you must be old enough to agree to this policy in your country (13 in many countries, and in some countries 16 or 18); if you are younger, a parent or guardian must agree for you. Parents and guardians can ask us to delete a child's account at [email protected].
Your choices and rights
- Delete your account: in the app, go to Profile → Delete account, or follow these steps.
- Access or correct your data, or object to how we use it: email us and we'll reply within 30 days.
- Depending on where you live (for example the EU/UK GDPR, India's DPDP Act, or US state laws) you may have further rights, including complaining to your data protection authority.
Security
Passwords are stored as one-way hashes, connections to our servers are encrypted (HTTPS), and access to the database is restricted. No system is perfectly secure; tell us at once if you think your account has been misused.
Changes
If we change this policy we'll update the date above, and tell you in the app if the change is significant.
